Islam
The word "Islam" means "submission". A Muslim is one who
submits. The submission is to be done to Allah, which literally
means "the God". The word "Islam" is related to the word for peace.
In other words, Islam is for people who believe that they must
submit to Allah, and that in doing so, they will find true peace.
Below are some of the fundamentals of Islam.
Islam: How Did We Get Here?
We were created by Allah.

Islam: Who/What is God?
Part of a Muslim's daily practice is to recite the creed "There is
no God but Allah, and Mohammed is His prophet". This shows clearly
that Muslims believe in one God. They reject any notion of either
many gods (Hinduism, animism), or the Trinity (Christianity). They
do not believe that Jesus is God, as do Christians, but that Jesus
was one in a line of prophets. Mohammed is the last and great
prophet. Allah is portrayed as having majesty and might, and his
most important feature is justice. While these aspects are similar
to the God of the Bible, Allah does not show grace, mercy, love or
patience. Back | Top |

Islam: What is Sin?
Sins are generally the evil things done by humans. Infidels are not
tolerated in Islam. On the final great day of judgment, all those
who are not Muslims will find themselves in hell, which is described
in the Koran as a place of torment. Muslims disagree as to whether
these torments should be taken literally or not.

Islam: How Do You Explain Pain and
Suffering?
Islam teaches that humans are not inherently sinners, but have been
given free will to choose good or evil. This includes belief or
unbelief in Allah, and its consequences. Islam teaches that Satan
and his spirits inhabit earth, and rule over non-believers. This
accounts for evil and suffering. Nevertheless, suffering is allowed
by Allah, to erase a person's sins, and to test that person's
humility and faith. Back | Top |

Islam: What Happens When You Die?
People who are saved will experience the bliss of heaven, while
those who are not saved will experience the torture of hell. On
Judgment Day, Allah will resurrect the dead, unite body and soul,
and judge all for eternity in heaven or hell.
