James Neal
Minister of Education
Email: james@cbcdunn.com
Where he's from: Born and raised in Clearwater, FL
His story: I was blessed to be born into a Christian
family and received Christ as my Savior at the age of 7. I
lived a pretty typical life and went to Flagler College to
become a business lawyer after I graduated high school.
While there I came down with mono and had to withdraw my
second semester of my freshman year. While recovering at
home, I began to sense the Lord calling me into full-time
ministry. Thinking that God has gotten the wrong person, I
wrestled with the Lord about it for awhile and then that
summer surrendered to the call. I went back to college and
changed my major. After graduating from Flagler, I married
my life-long friend Jenni and moved to North Carolina to go
to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. During this
time I was an intern for Central and then after graduating
Southeastern I went on staff full-time as Minister of
Education.
Ministry at Central: I am the Minister of
Education and over all the Bible Studies. I help out with
the office administration and have other Pastoral staff
responsibilities. I am the Judgement House Director and
enjoy writing scripts for the choir productions. I am also
the resident "geek" on staff with all the irrelevant trivia
knowledge.
Family: Wife Jenni and son Logan (born January 2008)
Favorite pastimes: Reading, playing guitar, playing
video games and watching movies. As you can tell, I live a
very active lifestyle
Little known fact: I was dropped on my head when I
was a baby, seriously.
Favorite verse: I Corinthians 15:58
Favorite quote: It is not the critic who counts, nor
the man who points out where the strong man stumbled, or
where a doer of deeds could have done them better. The
credit belongs to the man in the arena whose face is marred
by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who
errs, and who comes up short again and again, who knows the
great enthusiasms, the great devotions, and spends himself
in a worthy cause. The man who at best knows the triumph of
high achievement and who at worst, if he fails, fails while
daring greatly, so that his place will never be with those
cold timid souls who never knew victory or defeat.
-Teddy Roosevelt
Advice to others: It's all good
