Darren grew up in a Christian home in Thomasville, North Carolina, where his preaching grandpa and singing family had a lasting influence on his life and calling. Over time, his passion for ministry led him to travel across the country singing Gospel music.
In 2003, Darren married his wife, Margy, and together they settled in Dunn, where God unexpectedly called them to serve at CBC. They are blessed with two children, Sophia and Isaac.
Darren holds a BS in Music from Tennessee Temple University and Master’s from Liberty University. He currently serves in the areas of Administration and Music, where he is passionate about encouraging others to worship God by faithfully using their gifts.
He leads the church in worship through teams, a live band, and choir, for which he also writes vocal arrangements. Darren enjoys being part of a team of songwriters from the church writing original music that is used in both special events and regular worship services.
