For over 30 years, the choir of Central Baptist Church in Dunn, NC, has been inspiring worshippers with a powerful view of God and His work. Now with over 100 voices, our large choir has become a highlight of every service, bringing excitement and energy each week.
Led by Pastor Darren Hughes, who skillfully composes each musical arrangement and directs while also playing the keyboard, our choir is comprised of downhome, country folks from rural North Carolina. Their authentic praise resounds week after week, making the Central Baptist Church Choir a mainstay in the region.

Since the mid-1980s, our choir has testified of God’s goodness through a variety of music styles. From traditional Southern Gospel numbers to the latest hits on Christian radio, our music reaches the heart and soul of listeners. Our choir has shared the stage with renowned artists like Greater Vision, Anne Wilson, Karen Peck & New River, The Nelons, and The Mylon Hayes Family, giving us a unique platform to share the Gospel locally and abroad.

The Central Baptist Church Choir of Dunn, NC released, He Is, in early 2023 featuring many of their friends in Gospel Music who they’ve had the pleasure of sharing the stage with over the past few decades. The Nelons, Suzanne Taylor Hise, The Ben Rochester Family, Soul’d Out, The Mylon Hayes Family, Roy Harris and The Whisnants all join this eastern North Carolina 100+ voice choir for this special recording. Worship Pastor, Darren Hughes, says this is “a dream project we’ve been putting together for the past few years. We are honored these artists would go out of their way to participate in this recording!”
